Welcome to the Greater Victoria Public Library! Library cards are free to residents and property owners in the Greater Victoria area.

 

The Library in Your Language

The library offers books, music CDs and DVDs in 15 languages and newspapers and magazines in 11 languages. 8 out of 10 GVPL branches carry World Language materials. Most of our World Languages materials have been fully catalogued and can be searched in the catalogue. Holds can be placed on items for pickup at any GVPL branch.

Free Internet Access & Computer Use

You can use the library's computers for free. Our computers have Internet access, Microsoft Office and other software. We also have kids' computers with educational games. Printing is available at a cost of 25 cents per page. You can reserve a library computer online.


Free Programs

We offer many kinds of programs for people of all ages, including storytimes for children and computer classes for seniors. Check out our program and events calendar and register online.
