Corporate Library Cards
A Corporate Library Card is available to any business, government agency, school, community organization, group home, day-care or preschool located within the service area. It is intended for use by employees who require library materials for their work. To apply for a Corporate Library Card please complete the online Corporate Library Card application form.
Library cards for Non-Residents
Library cards are available to visitors and non-residents who do not live or pay property taxes in the GVPL service area.
- Non-Resident Fee (12 months) $200.00
- Non-Resident Fee (6 months) $100.00
- Non-Resident Fee (3 months) $50.00
- Non-Resident Fee (2 months) $35.00
- Non-Resident Fee (1 month) $20.00
People in Transition
Persons with identification but no known or permanent address are eligible for limited borrowing privileges and Internet access.
If you are a BC resident you can register for a BC OneCard at GVPL. There is no charge for this service, which lets you borrow up to 5 books or 5 audiobooks (CDs). You can return them at GVPL or at your home library. Learn more about the BC OneCard.
Library cards are available to persons who live outside the Capital Regional District and are staying at least four days within the GVPL service area and who have identification with their permanent and/or Victoria address.
Visitors outside the GVPL service area are classified as non-residents. Short-term students in post-secondary institutions or registered in English Language Programs are considered to be visitors. The cost of a library card to borrow library materials for visitors is:
- 1 month $20.00
- 2 months $35.00
- 3 months $50.00
- 6 months $100.00
Visitor Internet Privilege (VIP) Internet Service Only
Upon presentation of identification a visitor can be issued a card to allow them access to the Internet for two hours per day.
- VIP cards cannot be used to borrow items.
- There is no charge for this service.
- The card is valid for the duration of your visit.
