Shakespeare's tragedy about the Moorish commander Othello, his wife Desdemona, and the embittered soldier Iago. Driven to a jealous rage by falsehoods perpetrated by Iago, Othello murders his wife. When Iago's treachery is revealed and Desdemona's innocence proven, Othello kills himself.
