Set in 1990s Australia, this poignant drama follows Shayda (Zar Amir Ebrahimi), an Iranian mother who seeks refuge in a women's shelter with her six-year-old daughter, Mona (Selina Zahednia), to escape an abusive marriage. As they embrace the Persian New Year, Nowruz, Shayda strives to create a sense of normalcy and hope for Mona amidst the turmoil.
