Join us for a summer of reading, creativity, and connection. The 2026 Summer Reading Club (SRC) runs from June 19 to September 5, 2026, and is open to all children up to 14 years old.
Pick up an SRC reading record to get started from June 19 onwards at any GVPL branch.
Details
- Pick up your reading record at any GVPL branch.
- Read (or be read to) for 20 minutes or more each day. Read anywhere, in any format or language.
- Record your daily reading. Each bubble represents one day of reading.
- Collect your weekly sticker and prize at any GVPL branch.
- Repeat for up to seven weeks to earn a medal and celebrate your achievement.
BC Summer Reading Club activities
This summer, we invite kids and families to connect with their local branch and enjoy all the BC Summer Reading Club has to offer. All programs are drop-in, and space is limited. Adults must remain on site during all children’s programs.
Under the Sea Storytime and Craft
A themed storytime with ocean stories followed by a simple hands-on craft activity. Suitable for ages 0 to 9.
Central Branch

Comic workshops
Creative workshops where participants learn to draw comics, develop characters, and tell stories through sequential art with local visual artist Gareth Gaudin.
Esquimalt Branch
