Contest details
The Victoria Festival of Authors Ticket Voucher Contest runs 10:00 a.m., September 23, to 6:00 p.m., October 7. Winners drawn on October 13. The contest is open to library cardholders ages 13 and above. Winners will be randomly drawn on October 13, 2026. Winners are eligible to win a maximum of one prize. Winners’ names will be shared with the Victoria Festival of Authors.
Contest rules
- To enter the Victoria Festival of Authors Ticket Voucher prize draws, individuals must fill out a prize draw ballot and submit it to the ballot box.
- Ballots submitted become the property of GVPL and will be destroyed after the contest closes; winners’ names will be shared with the Victoria Festival of Authors.
- Number of Entries. One (1) per person at each branch. Photocopied ballots will not be counted.
- Program Entry Period. Ballots can be submitted from September 23 at 10:00 am to October 7 at 6:00 pm.
- The chances of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received.
- Winners will be randomly drawn from the ballots submitted during the program entry period. Winners will be selected in proportion to the number of prizes. The prizes are: 5 pairs of tickets for the Victoria Festival of Authors Fiction Panel Amusement Dark: Three Novels featuring authors Doretta Lau, Anakana Schofield and Daniel Zomparelli. The event takes place Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at Langham Court Theatre.
- If a prize winner is not eligible or cannot be contacted after five days, GVPL has the right to qualify another participant, and GVPL is released from any liability or responsibility in this regard.
- By submitting a ballot, each participant agrees to accept and abide by these rules.
- By submitting a ballot, each participant agrees that GVPL and its trustees, officers, employees, agents, and assignees are not liable or responsible for any loss, damage, or injury arising out of or in connection with the prizes awarded.
- By entering the prize draw, participants and winners consent to the use of their personal information for the purposes of administering the program and notifying the winners.
- By claiming a prize, the winner consents to the use of their name and/or likeness and/or voice/photograph and city of residence without compensation for promotion and/or advertising purposes, in any manner and in any medium which GVPL considers appropriate.
- Claiming Prizes. Names of winners will be shared with the Victoria Festival of Authors. Tickets will be left at ‘Will Call’. The event takes place Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at Langham Court Theatre.
- GVPL reserves the right to make substitutions of equivalent kind or approximate value in the event of the unavailability of any prize or component of any prize for any reason.
- GVPL reserves the right to withdraw or terminate the prize draw at any time without prior notice.
- These rules are available upon request from GVPL.
- The prize draw is subject to all federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
