Our libraries are inclusive spaces. We strive to ensure 2SLGBTQIA+ readers will see themselves reflected in our stories and collections. Throughout the year, we highlight voices, stories, and resources from across the community.
Welcome sticker
The library is an inclusive and welcoming space for all. The City of Victoria’s Welcoming City sticker is displayed on all GVPL branch windows. The sticker re-affirms the message that people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions are valued, respected, and welcome.

We host Trans ID Clinics in partnership with the University of Victoria chapter of Pro Bono Students Canada. These clinics offer free legal information and support for transgender and gender-diverse people updating names and gender markers in BC.
